DIN 17100 is the German steel standard, mainly applied to ordinary structural steel. This standard specifies in detail the requirements for section steel (such as wide-rim I-beams), bar steel, wire, flat steel, strip steel, sheet steel, wide flat steel, seamless hollow profiles and weldable square and rectangular hollow profiles and other common structural steel delivered in hot rolled or normalized condition. In addition, steel under DIN 17100 standard is not only suitable for civil construction, underground engineering, pidge structures, Marine structures, container manufacturing, but also widely used in automobile and machine manufacturing fields.

The chemical composition of DIN 17100 steel plate mainly includes carbon (C), silicon (Si), manganese (Mn), phosphorus (P) and other elements, and may contain other alloying elements such as nitrogen (N). When the product thickness exceeds 100, the carbon (C) content may need to be adjusted according to the agreement. For nitrogen (N) elements, the maximum amount of phosphorus (P) may be limited to 0.005% for every 0.001% increase in nitrogen. However, the nitrogen content shall not exceed 0.12% in the smelting analysis and 0.014% in the finished product analysis. Similarly, silicon (Si) must not exceed 0.55% for smelting analysis and 0.60% for finished product analysis. Manganese (Mn) must not exceed 1.6% in the smelting analysis and 1.70% in the finished product analysis.

Good corrosion resistance

Excellent mechanical properties

Strict chemical composition and quality control

DIN 17100 has a wide range of applications, mainly covering construction, machinery, vehicle manufacturing and many other fields. In the field of construction, it is often used in the manufacture of pidges, building frames, support structures, etc. In the field of machinery, DIN 17100 steel is used in the manufacture of various mechanical parts, in the field of vehicle manufacturing, the standard steel is often used in the manufacture of cars, trains and other vehicles because of its excellent mechanical properties and machinability.

DIN 17100 steel is also suitable for manufacturing storage tanks, water supply tanks and other storage equipment, and its good corrosion resistance ensures the stability and reliability of the equipment in long-term use.
